I will write about the four categories of souls of the dead described in Enoch 22. To be honest, the Book of Enoch is said to be tampered with, so I thought that if I wrote down too much I might mislead people, but as this is a personal diary blog, I will save and publish it as a reminder so that I don't forget. Click here for Chapter 22 of the Book of Enoch. And here is greek of book of enoch!

Classification of the spirits of the righteous.

Enoch22:1 And from there, I went to another place, and he showed me in the west a large and high mountain, and a hard rock, and four beautiful places. 2 And inside, it was deep, wide, and very smooth. How smooth is that which rolls, and deep and dark to look at! (Proverbs 15:24) Three of them were dark, and one was shining, and in the middle of this was a source of water. Then I said, "Why are these depressions smooth, very deep and dark in appearance?" 3 Then Raphael, one of the Holy Angels who was with me, answered me, and said to me: “These beautiful places are there so that the spirits, the souls of the dead, might be gathered into them. For them they were created; so that here they might gather the souls of the sons of men. (1 Peter 3:18-20), (1 Peter 4:6), (Psalm 68:18), (Ephesians 4:8-10) 4 And these places they made, where they will keep them until the Day of Judgment, and until their appointed time, and that appointed time will be long, until the great judgment comes upon them. (1 Peter 3:18-20), (1 Peter 4:6), (Psalm 68:18), (Ephesians 4:8-10)

The spirits of the dead are divided into four categories. One of these is the category of the righteous who receive eternal life and blessings, where the water of life is described as flowing. The following verse 8 explains that there is one receptacle for the righteous.

6 Then I asked Raphael, the Angel who was with me, and said to him: “Whose is this spirit, whose voice thus reaches Heaven and complains?” 7 And he answered me, and said to me, saying: “This spirit is the one that came out of Abel, whom Cain, his brother, killed. And he will complain about him until his offspring are destroyed from the face of the Earth, and from amongst the offspring of men, his offspring perish.” (Genesis 4:3-8), (Genesis 4:9-11), (Matthew 23:35), (Luke 11:51), (1 John 3:12), (Jude 1:10-11)

This cry of appeal from Abel's spirit is a metaphorical expression. (Genesis 4:10) As in Leviticus 17:11, the blood is the soul itself and serves as a substitutionary atonement by sprinkling it on the altar. So when Abel and other righteous people die from unreasonable harm, the blood shed appeals to God even though they are unconscious. (Heb. 12:24)

These verses clearly show that Abel is expressing the cries of his spirit to God even though he is not conscious.

8 Then I asked about him, and about judgment on all, and I said: “Why is one separated from another?” 9 And he answered me, and said to me: “These three places where made, in order that they might separate the spirits of the dead. And thus the souls of the righteous have been separated; this is the spring of water, and on it the light. (Revelation 14:13), (John 4:14), (John 7:38), (Revelation 22:1)

The way this is written is very complicated and controversial in the English-speaking world, and I had trouble with it for a few days (maybe because I'm not very smart), but three out of the four are receptacles for the souls of the unrighteous, including the guilty with extenuating circumstances. Only one is the receptacle for the souls of the righteous, and it says that the water of life flows there. Revelation 22:2 describes the fruit of the tree of life and the water of life that heals the nations. It can be assumed that the righteous and the Gentiles, so-called unbelievers in their lifetime who lived pure lifestyles are in this category, including those who sacrificed their own lives for the sake of martyrdom. Incidentally, Abel is also in this category, because he is clearly described as 'righteous' in Matthew 23:35, where it is expressed that 'the blood of Zechariah cries out from Abel the righteous'.

This single receptacle of righteous souls will include the pagan Kind Samaritan, not just the unbeliever in Luke 10:25, the unbeliever who shows kindness to Christians without knowing they are Jesus' brothers in Matthew 25:34-40, the compassionate unbeliever or believer in James 2:13, Romans 2:10 -15 verses, pure unbelievers and believers who lived conscientiously, etc., will be included. It can also be said that those who are forced to live like prostitutes are not necessarily classified as sinners, since Rahab the prostitute, who risked her life to shelter the spies of Israel and exercise faith, became an ancestor of Jesus and is regarded as a person of faith. It means that when pure-hearted people who are forced to live a life of whoredom in torment die, they are resurrected by God as righteous people. (Joshua 2:1-24; Heb. 11:31)

Enoch102:7. Our spirits have been consumed, lessened, and diminished. 8. We have perished; nor has there been a possibility of help for us in word or in deed: we have found none, but have been tormented and destroyed. 9. We have not expected to live day after day. 10. We hoped indeed to have been the head; 11. But we have become the tail. We have been afflicted, when we have exerted ourselves; but we have been devoured by sinners and the ungodly; their yoke has been heavy upon us. 12. Those have exercised dominion over us who detest and who goad us; and to those who hate us have we humbled our neck; but they have shown no compassion towards us.

Enoch104:1 I swear to you, righteous, that in heaven the angels record your goodness before the glory of the Mighty One. 2 Wait with patient hope; for formerly you have been disgraced with evil and with affliction; but now shall you shine like the luminaries of heaven. You shall be seen, and the gates of heaven shall be opened to you. Your cries have cried for judgment; and it has appeared to you; for an account of all your sufferings shall be required from the princes, and from every one who has assisted your plunderers. 3 Wait with patient hope; nor relinquish your confidence; for great joy shall be yours, like that of the angels in heaven. Conduct yourselves as you may, still you shall not be concealed in the day of the great judgment. You shall not be found like sinners; and eternal condemnation shall be far from you, so long as the world exists. 4 And now fear not, righteous, when you see sinners flourishing and prosperous in their ways. 5 Be not associates with them; but keep yourselves at a distance from their oppression; be you associated with the host of heaven. You, sinners, say, All our transgressions shall not be taken account of, and be recorded. But all your transgressions shall be recorded daily. 6 And be assured by me, that light and darkness, day and night, behold all your transgressions. Be not impious in your thoughts; lie not; surrender not the word of uprightness; lie not against the word of the holy and the mighty One; glorify not your idols; for all your lying and all your impiety is not for righteousness, but for great crime.  11 And in which they shall rejoice. And all the righteous shall be rewarded, who from these shall acquire the knowledge of every upright path.

Religious background is irrelevant for righteous and good people. Those who lived a sincere life with basic consideration for others and those sincere people who lived with a pure heart despite hardships will be sealed by Yahuwah with the seal of the righteous. They will be enjoying the water and light of life in the sleep of death in the receptacle of the souls of the righteous.

The unforgiven wicked and the guilty with extenuating circumstances

22:10 Namely, [by] a chasm, [by] water, and [by] light above it. 22:11 And in the same way likewise are sinners separated when they die, and are buried in the earth; judgment not overtaking them in their lifetime.

In Luke 16:26, the rich man is depicted as having a deep separation between him, Abraham and Lazarus, but this is not literal either, as the state of death is often shown metaphorically. (Luke 9:60 Colossians 2:13 1 Timothy 5:6), so it can be said that the agony at the resurrection to be judged is metaphorically depicted as being immediately after death. This is the segment that will be resurrected and rewarded on the Day of Judgment.

22:12 Here their souls are separated. Moreover, abundant is their suffering until the time of the great judgment, the castigation, and the torment of those who eternally execrate, whose souls are punished and bound there for ever.

According to one English-language website, this verse was explained as a receptacle for the souls of the righteous who had suffered an unreasonable destruction. The word (righteous) is added to this verse on its own, but the text of the Book of Enoch does not say so. The Talmud also says that this is the way it should be interpreted, but there are many theories. But remember, there is only one receptacle for the souls of the righteous, as mentioned above. The other three are described by Raphael as being in darkness, so this would be a guilty and extenuating spirit. Abel, Lazarus, who was left for dead by the rich, the Christian martyrs and all those who died as unbelievers but who showed love for their neighbour in a pure and conscientious way are all resting in peace in the one receptacle of the water and light of life.

Even the sinners would still be classified as souls appealing for mercy who died during their lifetime of extenuating and unreasonable treatment, or who were judged directly by God and put to sleep in death. (1 Corinthians 5:5 ; 11:30-32, 1 Peter 4:6) In particular, according to 1 Corinthians 6:8, there are cases of Corinthians falling asleep in death in judgement because of their practice of fleshly works such as court disputes, racketeering, etc., "that they might not be condemned with the world" and "delivered to Satan to perdition in the flesh but be saved in spirits at the day of the Lord" The expression is 'brought about and the spirit is saved in the day of the Lord'. God's children, who were delivered to Satan at the discretion of God's judgement, and who received their reward early enough to die out, may no longer be in the category of the recipients of sinners that we are now describing. David the righteous also committed murder and adultery, each time inviting the judgement of the flesh, but he was forgiven. There are cases where people are judged and forgiven during their lifetime, and they are classified as the righteous people mentioned at the beginning. Since 2 Corinthians 2:8-11 admonishes to forgive those who have committed lewdness, it can be said from the above scriptures that the Corinthians who have died, whom Paul described as having been saved in spirit even though their flesh perished, will be resurrected.

From Ezekiel 16:53, we read that the captives of Sodom and Samaria will prosper as before. The captives would be the spirits of many sinners who did not know Jesus, who suffered destruction during the lifetime of their lives as sinners in those cities and had extenuating circumstances that appealed to God, even though they were victims of sinners and did not live a clean life. As expected, I assume that the bizarre criminals who tried to rape the angels who visited Lot will not be resurrected, but there are those who surrendered themselves to consensual sexual immorality and pleasure who need to know Jesus.

Enoch50:1 And in those days a change will occur for the Holy and the chosen; the Light of Days will rest upon them, and glory and honour will return to the Holy. (Ben Sira 24:32-33), (Joel 2:28-29), (Acts 2:17-18), (Isaiah 44:3), (Isaiah 32:15-16), (2 Corinthians 1:22), (Romans 2:10) 2. And on the day of trouble, calamity will be heaped up over the sinners, but the righteous will conquer in the Name of the Lord of Spirits and He will show this to others so that they might repent and abandon the works of their hands. (Daniel 12:3), (Daniel 12:10), (Acts 20:19-21), (Wisdom 12:19), (Wisdom 11:23), (Psalm 90:3), (Romans 2:4) 3. And they will have no honour in front of the Lord of Spirits, but in His Name they will be saved and the Lord of Spirits will have mercy on them, for his mercy is great. (John 11:25-26), (John 6:47), (John 3:15-16), (John 3:36), (John 5:24), (Luke 8:50), (Acts 16:31), (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13), (Isaiah 28:16), (1 Peter 2:6), (Romans 9:33), (Romans 10:8-13), (1 John 5:11-13) 4. And He is righteous in His judgment, and in front of His Glory iniquity will not be able to stand against His Judgment; he who does not repent will be destroyed. (Jeremiah 4:4), (Acts 17:30-31), (1 Timothy 2:3-4), (Luke 13:1-5), (2 Esdras 16:53-54, 62-67), (Psalm 7:11-13) *Cited here.

From Matthew 11:20, it is stated that Tyre and Sidon would have repented long ago if they had known Jesus, and that Sodom and Gomorrah would have been the better off, which means that there are sinners with extenuating circumstances who will be judged by God and die out. The resurrection of the Queen of the South is depicted in chapter 12, verse 42.

Enoch22:13 Thus a place has been created, for the souls of men who are not righteous, but sinners, accomplished in wrongdoing, and with the wrongdoers will be their lot. But their souls will not be killed on the day of judgment, nor will they rise from here.” (Psalm 1:5-6), (Revelation 20:5), (Psalm 119:155), (Ben Sira 41:5-11), (Wisdom 1:16), (Wisdom 2:21-24), (Wisdom 3:10), (Wisdom 4:20), (Wisdom 5:13-14), (Job 8:11-14), (Job 27:7-10)

It can be assumed that the wicked in these graves are already in the sleep of death because they have already received some kind of judgement or retribution during their lifetime with no room for repentance. When they die, they have no consciousness, as Isaiah 26:14 describes gods dying and not breathing again. The English word wrongdoing in this verse 13 is a rather strong word and means crime. In Jeremiah 51:57, at the destruction of Babylon, there is a case of "not awakening from sleep" and being judged by God and going into the sleep of death forever.

Even today, with the spread of Christianity, there will be no resurrection if individual people in the prosecution and police forces who are unrepentant, dishonest bureaucrats, bribe-takers and false accusers are judged and rewarded on earth. But I think there are very few such cases, and most of them are people who will be resurrected to be judged.

Enoch51:1 And in those days the Earth will return that which has been entrusted to it, and Sheol will return that which has been entrusted to it and that which it has received. And destruction will return what it owes. (Proverbs 15:11), (Acts 24:15), (Isaiah 26:19), (Ezekiel 37:1-4), (Daniel 12:2), (Revelation 20:13),

Enoch56:8 And in those days Sheol will open its mouth and they will sink into it and their destruction; Sheol will swallow up the sinners in front of the faces of the chosen.” (Proverbs 29:16)

Enoch99:11 Woe to those who stretch out their evil hand against their neighbour, for he will be killed in Sheol.

Summary Commen

Roughly like this, the souls of the dead are divided into four categories: one is the righteous, with the water and light of life; one is the sinners in darkness, who are forgiven and resurrected for having suffered destruction during their lives; two are the outlaws and accomplices in darkness, whose destruction is certain, one is without resurrection because they were judged and rewarded during their lives, The other is resurrected to be judged because they did not receive retribution during their lives. This analysis makes me think that it is rather fair, but what about you?

As a side note, Gogmagog after the millennial reign may be the outlaws who will be resurrected for the sole purpose of judgement as soon as Satan is released. Satan will try to influence the resurrected outlaws by misleading them into thinking that there is fruit from the tree of life inside the New Jerusalem and that if they eat it they will become immortal and be able to do whatever they want.

Although there are descriptions of procreation during the millennial reign, it is difficult to imagine a mass rebellion by the descendants of the nations who have survived a thousand years in peaceful circumstances. In Isaiah 65:20, there is a description that hints at a death toll, but in many passages it is a description of a paradise where the descendants are at peace and their children are healthy and at ease. If there were descendants of the peoples of the nations who survived the Great Tribulation, who would be transformed like Satan in a state of peace and happiness, they would be judged and die instantly.

Nevertheless, I speculate that the Gogmagogues of the millennium are the lawless ones who have been resurrected for judgement. Corrections have been made in other articles.
